From this week’s reading about Schadewaldt's concepts
of ‘nature’ and ‘technique’, I have learned that the concept of nature relates
to the physics of the world. While technique relates to industrial technology.
Over time, both of these concepts have been used to better assess the evolution
of technological advancement and its impact on the physical world.
For instance, in under 30 years, the Internet has evolved faster than any organic organism within that time. But before the World Wide Web, technological advancements happened steadily. Afterwards however, technology has revolutionized the possibilities of the world and it has drastically influenced the world we live in. Before technology existed, man existed in a simpler realm. People were forced to adapt to their innate surroundings for survival. Millions of years later, technology has made surviving in this world much easier by providing people accessible tools that can be used to complete an objective. Due to this, the nature of mankind has changed and as useful as these tools have been, it sometimes has created greater issues for people as a whole. For example, the Internet may be useful, but if information gets pirated, it could be used against the user. Resulting in negative consequences that can lead to trepidation, paranoia and mistrust. Whether it was photos or videos of that person’s nudity or a crime, the user can be blackmailed or placed in a tough situation that they didn’t see coming. If this happens, the Internet can be a source of control in that person’s life, forcing them to check for any updates that can ruin their lives.
Although this is one set of examples, of the Internet taking control of a person’s life, many incidents have happened and it has either resulted in violence, death, crime, prison or any other negative outlook. This changes lives and the experience of handling ourselves on the Internet, because if we’re not careful, we could potentially be next at risk. It is essential to limit our content and information on the Internet and to keep track of the nature of man, in the modern world.

You could mention the concept of nature here and how it has changed as well.
ReplyDeleteok, I expanded on it.
